what fuels my passion for this work?

Growing up in a multicultural environment and witnessing firsthand the impact of violence, displacement, and systemic inequality in immigrant populations, deeply shaped my commitment to mental health. My personal and professional journey—spanning over 15 years working with trauma, anxiety, and depression in minority communities across Washington DC and Latin America—has given me a profound understanding of cultural identity, resilience, and healing. This lived experience allows me to connect authentically with clients navigating complex life transitions and generational trauma.

what is the training and expertise that informs my work?

I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Washington University and a PhD in International Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have advanced training in treatment of traumatic stress. I incorporate a variety of approaches into my work with each client so that counseling is a unique and personal experience. The approaches that I often draw on include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, psychoanalysis, and existential therapy.

what might you find me doing when i’m not working?

I love to travel and eat great food. I also love to read books. I am currently working to establish my home library.
